Top Rated Shopify SEO Services for Online Stores

Shopify SEO Services That Turn Traffic Into Orders

Shopify SEO is the work of making a Shopify store rank for the queries shoppers actually buy from: collection and product pages, titles and metadata, the theme’s technical setup, and authority. Shopify handles hosting and speed well, but it ships with a fixed URL structure, duplicate-prone collection filters and thin default product copy. That is the gap this service closes.

What Does My Shopify SEO Service Cover?

A full plan built around how Shopify actually works. Not generic advice that ignores the platform’s constraints.

🔍

Shopify Store Audit

A complete crawl of your store: index status, duplicate collection URLs, thin product pages, broken internal links and where you sit against the stores outranking you.

🔑

Buying-Intent Keyword Research

Premium-tool research into the terms your customers use at purchase time, plus the keyword gaps competitors already rank for and your products do not.

🛍️

Product Page Optimization

Titles, H1–H3, meta descriptions, image alt text and product copy rewritten around focus keywords, because Shopify’s defaults repeat the manufacturer’s text.

📁

Collection & Navigation SEO

Collection pages are where Shopify SEO is usually won. I structure them around real category keywords and fix the internal linking that spreads authority to products.

⚙️

Technical Shopify SEO

robots.txt.liquid, sitemap submission, canonical handling for /products/ vs /collections/products/, redirect management, and index bloat from filters and tags.

🏷️

Product Schema & Rich Results

Product, Offer, Review and Breadcrumb structured data added at theme level so search listings can show price, availability and ratings.

What Shopify SEO Problems Does This Solve?

Shopify makes launching a store easy. It does not make ranking one easy.

⚠️ What Shopify owners come to me with

  • Store gets traffic from ads and social, almost none from search
  • Competitors outrank you on the exact same product keywords
  • Product pages exist in Google but rank nowhere
  • Collections are not indexed, or the wrong ones are
  • Sales flat despite a growing catalogue

📈 Why Shopify stores stall

  • Shopify’s “built-in SEO” covers the basics only (not strategy
  • The same product is reachable at two URLs, splitting signals
  • Filters and tags generate hundreds of near-duplicate pages
  • Default meta comes from the theme, not from keyword research
  • You cannot edit the URL structure, so the fix has to be structural
Platform Reality

What Makes Shopify SEO Different?

Three constraints that change the approach) and what I do about each.

🔗

Fixed URL structure

You cannot remove /products/ or /collections/ from Shopify URLs. So instead of fighting it, I make collection pages the primary ranking targets and canonicalise product duplicates cleanly.

🧩

Limited app-free control

Much of Shopify’s SEO lives in Liquid templates, not a settings panel. I edit theme files directly for schema, meta patterns and heading structure rather than stacking apps that slow the store.

💰

Thin default product copy

Shopify imports and dropship apps paste the same manufacturer description everyone else uses. I identify which products deserve unique copy and rewrite those first. Not the whole catalogue.

FAQ

Shopify SEO, Frequently Asked Questions

What is Shopify SEO?
Shopify SEO is the process of optimizing a Shopify store so its collection and product pages rank in search results. It covers buying-intent keyword research, product and collection page content and metadata, theme-level technical fixes such as canonical tags and schema, and off-site authority building. The goal is organic orders, not sessions you cannot bank.
Does Shopify have built-in SEO?
Partly. Shopify generates a sitemap, handles SSL and hosting speed, and lets you edit page titles and meta descriptions. That is the floor, not a strategy. It does not research your keywords, write your product copy, fix duplicate collection URLs, add Product schema, or build authority, all of which decide whether you actually rank.
Why do my Shopify products appear at two different URLs?
Shopify serves a product both at /products/handle and at /collections/name/products/handle. Shopify canonicalises this by default, but themes, apps and internal links often break it, which splits ranking signals across duplicates. Auditing and correcting canonical behaviour is part of this service.
Should I optimize collection pages or product pages first?
Collections, almost always. They target broader category keywords with more search volume, they are easier to rank than an individual SKU, and they pass authority down to the products beneath them. I map keywords across both, but early wins usually come from collections.
Do I need SEO apps for Shopify?
Rarely. Most SEO apps duplicate what can be done properly in the theme, and several inject scripts that slow the store. Which works against you. I make the changes in Liquid templates where possible and only recommend an app when there is no template-level alternative.
How long does Shopify SEO take to work?
Technical and on-page fixes typically show once Google recrawls, often within 4–8 weeks. Competitive product and collection keywords take longer and benefit from ongoing work. Index and crawl improvements usually appear first (sometimes within days.
